OK,

First off, I'm a SCO/Unix newbie, so please be gentle!!

I'm running a T300 and am trying to install SCO 5.0.7. It's using a Dell SAS 6r (LSIL Chipset) for the HDD's and another LSIL for a tape drive.

Per directions on this page:
I kick off the install with defbootstr link="lsil wd"

If I try and install SCO with both cards, SCO will not be able to find the HDD's and give me the "no root disk controller found" error. If I remove the card with the tape drive, the install goes on without a problem.

So I thought I'd install SCO first and then plug in the second card. But if I try and put the second card in after SCO is successfully installed, I get the same "no root disk controller found" error message.

I assume the problem is caused to the "arc path" changing when I plug the second card in but I have no idea how to install SCO with both cards installed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Never have done it with what you have but earlier found on other systems/cards that putting the cards in the opposite slots resolved similar problems.
