HI I have a report designed in V7.0 and it is run ok in 7 put in 8 one of the column returne zero for each value and each field has a formula depends on other formula there and I have the same senario also with another column but it seems working and there is a values there and also this problem with SI7.5 any suggestion is welcome .Thanks

Post one formula that is giving you a problem and describe the problem.

Your question is difficult to follow because you ran it all together in one sentance. Ken Hamady

this is the first field

sum({@DetBugWorkingCost},{@Department})

second field
sum({@DetBugWorkingCost},{@ProjType})

these field give zero's

and I have another one in diffrent column is

sum({@DetBudTotDlr},{@ProjType})

which gives a value and there is no problem .

Go into File - REPORT Options and check the option "Convert Null to Default" and see if that has any effect. If it does that means you are running to blank field values (nulls) in the working cost formula.

Otherwise, post the formula for {@DetBugWorkingCost} Ken Hamady

I went to this option but it is Grayed out by default why my version is dev version does that has any effect

I don't think V7 has a dev version, just standard and pro. Ken Hamady

no this is not solving the problem do you have another solution interms of compatability issue

here is the formula

if ({TH_PA_WBA_V.REC_TYPE}="B" and trim({TH_PA_WBA_V.WORKING_STATUS_CODE}) like "*WORKING*")
then {TH_PA_WBA_V.BURDENED_COST} else 0

Put the fields used by this formula on the detail band of your report and confirm that they are all returning data to the report. If a formula hits one null value, it returns a null value. Ken Hamady

It might be converting an outer join to an equal join when it is run in V8. Ken Hamady
