Hello people,

I have an IP trunk between IP Office and Definity. I am able to transfer calls from IP Office to stations/extensions on the Definity. However, when I try to transfer calls to short codes on the Definity, everything fails, and below is the error code, from a trace on the trunk:

11:19:06 Calling party trunk-group 49 member 2 cid 0x6d
11:19:06 Calling Number & Name 00254733744121 0025473374412
11:19:06 active trunk-group 49 member 2 cid 0x6d
11:19:06 dial 3806 route:UDP|AAR
11:19:06 term trunk-group 1 cid 0x6d
11:19:06 dial 3806 route:UDP|AAR
11:19:06 route-pattern 103 preference 1 cid 0x6d
11:19:06 seize trunk-group 1 member 21 cid 0x6d
11:19:06 Setup digits 07710352299
11:19:06 Calling Number & Name 00254733744121 0025473374412
11:19:06 denial event 1204: Bearer cap not implem D1=0x830031 D2=0x40f41
11:19:06 idle trunk-group 1 member 21 cid 0x6d

Can someone help me find out what is causing this?

I looked up the denial event in the document "Aura Communication Manager Denial events" but its probably not the same for Definity.

Cause Value 65
[0x41/0xC1] Bearer capability not implemented
The call could not be completed because the equipment sending this Cause Value does not
support the bearer capability requested in the SETUP message.
This Cause Value has end-to-end significance and should always be passed back through the
network to the user.
Troubleshooting
The diagnostic information (DIAG) of the Cause Value should contain, if implemented, the
bearer capability attributes that are not implemented. See Cause Values and their meanings/
interpretations on page 11.

Let me see if I understand this. You've got a live call on the Definity and you're trying to transfer it to a defined Short Code on the IP Office.

Do normal station to station calls work OK?

Don't you need an incoming call route for anything coming across that pipe TO the IP Office?

The call has originated from IP Office and is being transferred to a short code which is defined on the Definity.
The Definity has both physical stations and short codes, which dial some mobile numbers for users.

Normal station to station calls work of, within the Definity and even from Definity to IP Office and vice versa.

So,what we are doing is transferring a call from IP Office to a short code on the Definity via the IP trunk. The trace was done on the IP trunk, but on the Definity side (obviously):)

I believe there is an incoming call route, but I am not sure about this because I have no access to SAT on the Definity.

What do I tell the Admin to check?

Thanks

from the IPO can you dial the code you are trying to transfer to and does it work?

Yes, I can dial the code and it works.

What do you see when you list trace tac XXX on the Definity, where XXX is the Trunk Access Code of the outgoing trunk group and not the IP Tie Trunk Group? Is the denial event the same?

@rockspop - This is what we got as a result of that test..

13:35:02 dial 3806 route:UDP|AAR
13:35:02 term trunk-group 1 cid 0x6
13:35:02 dial 3806 route:UDP|AAR
13:35:02 route-pattern 103 preference 1 cid 0x6
13:35:02 seize trunk-group 1 member 17 cid 0x6
13:35:02 Setup digits 07710352299
13:35:02 Calling Number & Name 0733744121 0733744121>38
13:35:02 denial event 1204: Bearer cap not implem D1=0x830031 D2=0x40f41
13:35:02 idle trunk-group 1 member 17 cid 0x6
