Hello,

I have a fujitsu-siemens amilo 7830d.

I've formated my labtop with windows xp sp2. After this everytime i start the computer it takes like 20min to enter in windows!
It's like, i push the power on, then it stays like 10 min with a black display then a white bar appears in the botton and then after 10min more it goes in windows and runs well.
All the drivers are installed.
I tried to run the repair opcion from windows cd with the fixboot command and it stays the same..
The labtop its completely clean! i don't even have connected it to the internet!
I realy don't know qhat can be!
Anyone can helps me?

thanks in advance

Sounds like some sort of problem on the bios side. If you can access the bios, is it set up for maximum performance rather than maximum cooling?

Either that or maybe its re-reading the hardware set up each time it boots.

hi,

I have been already in bios trying to find something and i didn't..

how can i set the bios to shut down the "re_reading the hw"?

One other problem is that, this bios doesn't have to many options to configure..

It really seams that it's doing some kind of check because we can see the hard drive light on.

One curious thing is that, before i formated it, it didn't have this problem.

Any suggestion will be appreciated

thanks

If it is re-reading the hardware, this will be carried out by XP, not the bios.
It may be that the Hardware Abstraction Lyer (HAL) file is corrupt, or just that XP got stuck in a loop. Have you tried booting up to safe mode, then a normal re-boot?

It could be insipient hard drive failure. Set XP to run a full check disk at reboot.
