MY
I am VERY new with Linux and OracleDB and have had some problems

most of which revolves around not being about to get Oracle to run

It ran fine after the install was completed successfully but since have had to do a reset

I am logged in as oracledb and when I try to start the sqlplus server etc it does not find the command

to start a Oracle9i DB what would be the steps from the start?

ANY HELP!?!

Hello:
If you haven't yet, you might consider posting this question on the Database forum. Sounds like the user, oracledb, is not getting the right environment to find the sqlplus command. You need to have at least $PATH, $ORACLE_HOME, $TNS_ADMIN $LD_LIBRARY_PATH set, and $ORACLE_SID. These should be in either the .profile or .login or .cshrc of oracledb. Once in place, the standard application files will be found, and you should be able to start the database.
