We have 1 MBX Server and 2 HT/CAS Servers, but I am now having problem starting some services in one of the HT/CAS system. The Exchange Transport hung on starting with the error message that the database might be corrupted. So I used ESSEUTIL /P on both the mail.que and ipFiltering.edb, but this seems not able to resolve the problem.
I also noticed that "IIS Admin Service" is failing to start with the error message "Unable to create Internet Informaton Service (IIS) directory entry. Error message is: Server execution failed. HResult = 2146959355"
What I might have to do is to delete the Transport database and recreate them, but I will like to know if there is any link between both problems. Would recreating the Transport database resolve both problems or they are indepent of each other.
Since I am yet to apply Update Rollup 5 to my environment, would applying it be able to resolve the problem.
