We have a WinMe PC and a Win2K PC on a peer-to-peer network. An HP P1000 printer is connected by USB to the WinMe PC and an EPSON C70 printer is connected by USB to the Win2K PC. Both printers are shared with the other PC and the latest printer drivers have been downloaded and used. Mostly, everything is fine but, now and again, either printer will print garbage. This usually happens if a print job is sent to the shared printer while the local printer is running a print job. As the idea is to speed up printing by running a job on both printers, we are not happy.

create a printer pool on w2k and let the print jobs be spooled prior to printing.

Turns out it was a residue of Bugbear incompletely cleaned from the network. All traces of this now removed and all works fine.
