Hi,
I have a 9.30.UC1 on Linux and want to set up the ISM to backup my DB into filesystem. Space is no problem.
I tried to use the ISMData or ISMDiskData in onconfig but the problem is that always I start
ism_op -label xxxx -pool ISMDiskData -volume ISMDiskData.001 I got the error message that the pool isn't on that system. What else do I need to "install" the pool except the parameter in onconfig ?
Any help is welcome
regards
Uwe

Problem is solved. The Installation script is written for ksh. But SUSE 8.2 does not have ksh, so it does not install the pools correctly. As I install the ksh and delete the directories/links /.nsr and $INFORMIXDIR/ism and start the initialization (ism_startup -init) it works fine.
Got some great help from Informix-colleagues.
regards
Uwe
