We have Macola 7.5.103 and Warehouse Management System. Things are going well except for this one scenerio:

In our warehouse if there is an item of a qty of 3 to be shipped, which the warehouse worker typed in 3 and scanned the item, but actually only found two of the items, it gets things messed up.

Is there a way that our user through WMS or Macola can change this? I believe commitment happens as soon as the part is scanned, correct?

Many variables here. Do you use confirm pick, confirm ship, or bill in oe setup? Do you have multibins, lots or serial numbers? You can roll back the transaction in generic macola if binned, lotted, serialized, but WMS may have another scenario if you don't have as many items as were indicated on the order. You can unconfirm pick or ship to roll back items picked in error in generic macola, but may not be able to on the handheld in wms.

No, we don't use bin or serialized. Looking in OE setup, I don't see an option for confirm ship, pick & bill. I would think this would be a major problem for some customers using Macola.

check page 2 of oesetup bottom right column, "Update IM for orders". Choices are bill, pick, ship. They all have ramifications throughout your organization & should have been a part of the implementation discussion. Changing this now can be a big deal, especially with wms in the mix. I've done it w/Peak Best OE in the mix in addition to confirm ship. Some files I had to manually re-create or manipulate because of hidden switches set in the oeordlin or oeordhdr files that you might never think about. If you are confirm bill, I'm not sure why we should have a problem with the RF handhelds unless there is missing code from the handheld to/from the odb file that creates bar code trxs for upload to macola (or should I say progression) when you take the product off the shelf.
