Could anyone help me with this? I am trying to print PDF files and the computer won't allow me to print all of them. I printed only one page successfully so far... I tried opening another PDF file and it won't allow me to print and gives me the following error message:

79.00 FE
Printer Error

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this? Thank you.

We have this problem too sometimes. Only solution we came up with was: reset the printer and don't try to print the document again. The printer cannot handle it for some reason. But i doubt this is a problem related to pdf files, because we also had the problem printing word files.

Can I guess you are on OSX? Printing files to distiller? If so...let me know...I have had a similar problem and solved it.

Hello Baddoggy,

I'm on OSX and am having the same problem intermittently with Excel and pdf files. You noted that you had solved a similar problem. I would greatly appreciate any insight you can provide.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin....this fix is only if you are printing postscript to distiller on OSX.

Basically...good old Distiller now processes the postscript at an unbeliveable rate...great news....erm....yes and no...

On large documents this can cause a problem because Distiller is processing the document before the print driver has finished postscripting the file....Fix....Go to 'settings' in Distiller...and 'check watched folders' . I have set this to 100 seconds. You may have to play a little to get the optimum settings, because it can be a pain to have to wait 100 seconds for Distiller to pick up the postcript...I started at 130 seconds and find 100 is just about right on large files.
