I have a .gif file (actually it is a MS Project file I copied as a picture) onto our intranet, so people who don't have MS Project could view it. It seems to work fine for some, but others get a shrunk down version [in other photo editors?] that fits it all to one page (Normally 17 pages). Is there a way I can make sure the file opens in IE instead of other photo editors? Thanks for the help.

Try going into Windows Explorer, View, Folder Options, File Types. Scroll to GIF, Edit, then Edit again under the window that says open. Browse to/pick which program/viewer you want to open the GIF.

The software used to open files are settings on the clients computers. The way to assure that a gif file is opened in a web browser is to create an htm file and insert the gif into it. It can be sized as desired in the web page. This can easily be done with Front Page Express or Word. An even easier option is to select "Save as Web Page" in MS Project.

In IE, the clients also must:

> Tools
> Internet Options
> Advanced
> Uncheck "Enable Automatic Image Resizing"
> OK

Well I did try saving as web page before, but have you ever tried to do this? The wizard does not allow me to just "take a picture" like the copy picture function. Very confusing - Really not feasible.

As for the Internet Options, "Enable Automatic Resizing" is not listed. I am using IE5 (so are the other clients), if that matters. Any other suggestions???

Thanks again.

Saving it as the gif is what I want to do. It's the sizing problem, i'm guessing, with each clients IE. I should also add that when they open it, it starts to initialize into the "big picture", then just when you think it is going to clear up and become readable, it shrinks it down to 1 page. When they hit refresh, you can see for a split second the way it should be, then goes back to the tiny print. ughh!

OK one more post! The people that are having the problem have IE6 (all that I have checked anyways)--the auto resizing option was the problem! Thanks for your help. If problems continue to persist, I will be back! Thanks alot!!
