Problem opening access database

I have created a database using Office 2000 on my PC. I have tried opening it on my laptop - although it opens - the office assistant appears after about 10 seconds then the database closes. This does not happen on my PC. I have tried to turn the office assistant off but it closes before I can get round to doing this. Any help appreciated. Lamaar75@hotmail.com

What version of Access are you using on your laptop?

Using Ofice 2000 on both machine - the Laptop is of a higher spec than my desktop. I have also tried using Powerpoint but this does the same also! Lamaar75@hotmail.com

Just so as you are not hanging on, I had a similar problem with Access, but it turned out to be a problem between 97 and 2000.

Have you checked Microsoft's knowledgebase? There might be something there, although the problem you report sounds pretty fundamental. You could contact Microsoft at:
