problem opening access 97 database

developed an application in VB6 using access 97 as database. Application installs in large number of sites over operating system from W95 through WinXp Pro
Two systems ...on Win2000 and one WinXP pro which had crashed and where subsequently reformated and reloaded with recovery disks. Now when my application is reinstalled the stock database cannot be opened by the application. It would seem that some dll or ?? is out of sync. Any ideas.
Thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated.

Try Loading MDAC on the machines in question.

Does it matter what version of mdac?

Get the latest, or 2.7 at the least.

Jet v4.0 SP8 update for Windows 2000

Windows XP Professional SP1/1a
Jet v4.0 SP8 update for Windows XP

And possibly MDAC28
