I have already a network with 30+ clients connection with swithes and finally to a LINKSYS DSL router, with PPPoE/ATM connection... it works fine.

When I inserting a NAT (redhat9.0),
Router 192.168.1.1<-> 192.168.1.2NAT <-> 192.168.2.0 clients
I off the dhcp of the router box and use the internal side dhcpd of NAT. when only me( a notebook) connected to the internal side... I can go online with NAT and ping the NAT well (both internal and ext.). But when I plug the switches to the NAT.... clients got slow connection (can go online) but unstable with uncomplete ping... sometimes reply, sometimes timeout...

p.s. the clients can obtain the ip from DHCPd on NAT

do you know why it is so stange??
