** Background **
I used two computers that they have mobile rack.
1. Pentium II 233 Ram 128+64 MB
2. AMD K6 II 350 Ram 128+64 MB Mainboard-Asus P5A
And I install Windows 2000 Professional on computer1. I want to use all application in harddisk of computer1. So I move rack to use on computer2. But it appear blue screen on computer2. And I can't boot it normally both safe mode or command prompt mode.

** Problem **
- I want to bring harddisk from computer1 to computer2. Can I do that?
- If I can do that. How I can configure it?
- Can I use Hardware Profile of Windows 2000 Professional? How?

Thank you for your help,

If I have two computer but I have one harddisk. How I can do? I need help about I can use one harddisk (Windows 2000 Professional) on different computer.

You need to have a separate installation of Windows 2000 for each computer.

Windows 2000 installs a variety of drivers for the hardware in the computer, that, in all likelihood will not work in another computer.

If the disk is big enough, install Windows 2000 again, on the other computer, to a different directory or partition.

This may or may not work - so good luck!

Thank you so much for CitrixEngineer's information. I have some question. If I have two computer but I have one harddisk. Can I use one harddisk (Windows 2000 Professional) on different computer. How I can do? Because I want use old application same computer1 that I don't want to install all application again. What's solution for this problem? Bug of windows 2000, or not?

Get yourself a couple of drive racks.. so you can swap the drive between PCs. I am assuming you have the interface in each :)

Give the drive 2 partitions.. use a manager like LILO or Bootmagic etc.. install Win2k on one box.. pull the drive and install it to the 2nd box.. install a SECOND copy of Win2k in the second partition using the manager to boot it. Either install the app a 2nd time OR if you are lucky, a shortcut from the first installation of the app will work :) You do need to remember which partition goes to which PC so label the boot screen correctly.

The odds of just taking the original Win2K and running it on the 2nd box is nill. THo' you *might* be able to pull it off with some tweaking of the boot file and ini files. Heck, I would boot and try it !!
