When I try to kick off a backup It hangs with the following message
MOUNTING <media id>
Any ideas??

Probably should of given that info!! It is a Sun storeedge L280
Stop the Backup Exec services.
Reboot the tape library
Restart the Backup Exec services.
That should solve it. I've had that happen when something caused BE to lose connection to the tape library (the SCSI connection needed to be 'reset').
