Hi @ all,

knows someone an issue about MLT-configuration between a R-IO Moduls and E IO Modul ?

My Problem is that i cant configure a MLT between the two types of IO-Moduls in one chassi.

The Passport is running under two: 8692 SF an mixture of R and E - Moduls and software 4.0.6.0....

Can you explain why you'd want to create an MLT between blades within the same chassis? (or if not, can you clarify?)

Thanks,

HH

Hi, i will explain it in accurately.

I have two chassis of PP8600 with a mix of R-Moduls and E-Moduls. I want create a normal MLT between the 2 chassis like this.

PP8600-1 PP8600-2

E-Modul ----------- E-Modul
R-Modul ----------- R-Modul
E-Modul E-Modul
R-Modul R-Modul
CPU-Modul CPU-Modul
CPU-Modul CPU-Modul

Now, i have the Problem that i can not create a MLT between a E-Modul and R-Modul of eacht PP8600 System because i get a Error from system if i want configure this. (A MLT between two R-Moduls or two E-Moduls are not a problem.

HELLPP :)

Ah! Thanks for clarifying...now I understand the issue you were explaining. What code version are you on?

Sorry- didnt see the initial post- (4.0.6, yes?)
Another questio-- what mode are you running in? (I hope not "R" mode(
And did you reboot the switch when in this mode or insert any of the blades afterwards?

I just tried this in our test lab and it worked between an 8630GBR and an 8608GBE running 4.0.6 To be more specific it let me build the configuration but I didn't have a chance to actually test it.

The only MLT limitations I know of are that the ports need to be running at the same speed... What does the error say and what are the module types?

My lab chassis was at factory defaults, do you have any other configuration on these ports or MLT group that might be unusual?

Just to be clear about my previous post - I built an MLT on one 8600 using ports from an 8608 and an 8630.

Hi,

thx for all answers. Today i test it again with a factory default system and get the same error called:

"MLT ports different type"

Info: I try to configure a MLT betqween the Moduls:

8648 GTR and 8648TX

Both moduls are able to work with 10/100 only GTR can works with 1000 Mbit/s too. The working Mode is NewEnhancedOperMode. i tried to configure NewMMode because i use M and R Moduls but the PP didnt accept it.

Any ideas ??

Hi, thanks for your reply..

yes i did it with 10 and 100 Mbit and i get the error message again.
