I was not sure where to post this so I am trying it within this topic.

Where I work I have been given the task of proposing procedures for a problem management system in our IT department. Frankly I don't have a clue so I am sure I will spend hours surfing the net looking for ideas.

This needs to include but is not limited to problem issues tracking, detemination of problem areas, and assigning the resolution of problems,

We currently use whats known as a Heat database version 8.03 for change management so to be cost effective I would like to use the same softwhere but it does not have to be the same software.

Any ideas on what other companies have done or a web site I can look at would be appreciated thank you.

Heat can also function as a problem management system. If you're already paying for it and yearly maintenance, I'd stick with that.
