Hi, I am a newbie to Crystal Reports Server XI,

I have installed Crystal Reports Server XI on to Windows Server 2003 Database Server that also runs SQL Server.
All of the Servers in the CMS are Enabled and Running

I can log into the this Server as Administrator and Administor the CMS.I have created several Users and given them Rights. I can also log onto the Repository via Crystal Reports.

I connect to this Server via VNC and I can run the Java Version of InfoView from the Server but not the .Net Infoview

When I try to connect to Infoview from my PC's Web browser using the following link

all I get is a blue line at the top and 3 lines underneath.Yet I can access

Can anybody help with why Infoview does not work.I am going away shortly and don't want to give everybody that needs reports access to my PC.

Many Thanks

Hi,
What exactly is meant by:
a blue line at the top and 3 lines underneath

3 lines ( like_________________ ) or a message with 3 lines..If the latter, please post the messages..

Hi Turkbear,

I get a Blue line right at the top approx 10mm thick followed by 1 straight line and 2 lines with a gap in the middle. But no message whatsoever.

As I said I can access the Admin account from my PC with no problem at all, it is only infoview?

Hi,
Be sure the IIS6 security options are set to allow .aspx ( .NET) to run...It is not enabled ( IIRC) by default in that version - much tighter security..

Hi Turkbear

I have checked and that is already enabled, I found a document probably on BO website that said to check it.I am running Windows XP SP2 would this make a difference?

Many Thanks

Hi,
Did the BO install process ( or you) set up the .NET Framework - Look in your Windows directory for a Microsoft.Net subd..

Hi,
I let Business Objects install the .Net Framework to start off with but then got a 508 Compliant error. So I looked up the BO website and it said to remove .net 2.0, reinstall 1.1 and then setup .net 2.0 to run in parallel which I did.

I have looked at the Server and it does have a directory called Microsoft.Net subdir

Hi Turkbear,
I have just managed to logon via my Web browser using the following

what is the difference between this and the other login?

I have just tried to login to the .net Administration launchpad on the Server and it says that it cannot access the files or there is a security setting on the Server denying access but the path is incorrect

C:\Program Files\Businessobjects\Businessobjects Enterprise11\Web Content\enterprise11\enterprise11\infoview

I have checked and there are 1 too many enterprise11 in this statement but I cannot see where to change it. Any Ideas.

Many Thanks

Hi,
I suspect something in that process went belly-up.

Try uninstalling and re-installing the .NET framework.

BTW, on our BOE XI system it is NOT 2.0 but 1.1.4322

I have both 1.1.4322 and 2.0 on my workstation ( XP pro) but only the 1.1 is on the BOE server..Try uninstalling the 2.0 Framework.

Hi Turkbear,
I have removed .net Framework 2.0 and retested I now get an error

HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

should I have to reboot the Server in order to completely remove the Framework?

Thanks

Hi.
From what you posted about the URL that works, it appears that you have the Java setup functioning under Tomcat and not the .NET under IIS...I am not sure both can co-exist on the same server ( but not sure)..Be sure .NET 1.4 is reinstalled and that your IIS virtual directories still point to the right place..

I suspect the Java and .NET components are clashing...

Hi Turkbear,
Should I try installing it in parallel again or should i just let it just install itself. I am right in thinking that you mean install .Net Framework 2.0 again am I.
Is there a way of turning the Java part off if you think it may be clashing?

Thanks

Hi,
At this point a clean uninstall/Reinstall of everything may be in order, if possible. Be sure to have the .NET framework ( We use the 1.4 version, but 2 should also work) installed before installing BOE - Be sure to choose .NET when given the choice and not Java ..

Read this for info on clean uninstalls:
