Never did that. I bet it would have it's problem. I did need VFP6 one time under XP, and there it had it's problems with prerequisites already. Plus it's not supported and you won't find SP5 for download, if you don't have it. For 2.6 there is a seperate forum, though the same people hang out there. In general it should be possible, but don't expect support. I can't speak for anyone here, but most probably noone did that here, we are at VFP9, mostly.
Why not make life simpler and put these old versions into a VM with WinNT or Win98?
I have installed versions 6-9 on W7 and they work fine.
As Tamar said though, install it somewhere other than Program Files. I actually installed all the versions off the C:\ directory.
One thing to note: FoxPro 2.x or any apps made with 2.6 WILL NOT RUN on a W7 64 bit OS.
I do SBT support so I work on versions of Fox from Foxbase through VFP9. I do have 6 loaded on a number of Windows 7 systems but this is the first Premium. Didn't have trouble loading VFP9. Home premium seems to work better with Fox. What I find irritating is I have installed VFP6 on another Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system that I have access to but did not set up. The person who set it up doesn't know Fox and says they didn't do anything special.
Now what I am waiting to find out is if VFP (any version) is going to run on Surface Windows 8 Pro. It has an Intel processor, and is supposed to be fully compatible with Windows 8 on the desktop. We'll see.

I'm loading SQL server 8 on Windows 7 and getting compatibility errors. I know what you mean about 8. Seems like MS has decided the best way to sell upgrades is to force them. Also MS doesn't seem to care about supporting users anymore.
