Problem loading oscommerce

Hi guys. Am trying to install OScommerce on my localhost. Have copied the catalog folde into to my root directory..created a database in phpmyadmin and then entered

http://localhost/xampp/catalog/install/

to install, but getting the error 'FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!'

Any ideas how I can rectify this guys????

How 'bout you do exactly what the error says to do: edit php.ini to turn on register_globals? Then restart your browser.

I suppose that should be 'restart your server'.

And what happened to the warning about not turning the register globals on because of security issues?
