Problem loading one field from MySQL to scroll box

I have a MySQL database table which contains a text field (along with quite a few other fields) and I want to load it into a scroll box (much like I would if it were a .txt file). So far I can load the field (named Description) into a scrollable text box but cannot get the scroll bar to activate.

The instance name of my text box is Desc1 with a variable name ov Description. The instance name of my scroll bar is imaginatively named scrollbar and it does specify Desc1.

Any help would be appreciated.

Guess you're using MX, and that this doesn't really have to do with your SQL database stuff of which I know nothing! Where did you set your variable name Description... in the property inspector? If so, that's probably the problem, at least when loading text from a text file, which in my mind, should be the same in your case.
Try setting it in your AS with something like:

Desc1.text = Description; Regards,
