Hi,

Using Access 97...if I create a new DB and go to File, Get External Data, Import...choose ODBC I get 0 files found. Instead of the ODBC data source selection tool.

Has anyone heard of this happening before?

I have uninstalled/reinstalled Office and googled for the answer.

Regards,

Peter.

Can you create an ODBC DSN from the Control Panel?

Hi,

Yes, I can create and test the connection in the Control Panel applet.

Strangely..I can access the ODBC data types using the Excel Data, Get External Data, Create Web Query...

Peter.

Do the other features/wizards in Access all work correctly?

Hi Duane,

All other wizards seem fine. I should mention that I did a full install of Office 97 Pro.

Very odd. I hope it's not something corrupt in the registry...

Can you check the option in Access - I spend ages trying to sort a DDE linking error, only to discover the 'Ignore DDE requests' had been turned on by accident....
