I had to resort to that headline as I've asked this question 2 or 3 times with not even one answer and I can't see why this wouldn't be a problem to other users and vendors. (yet my thread on BCM50 analog CLID was of interest to many)
The ringing volume on an I2004 set cannot be adjusted using F*6 or F*80 off prem. This presents a problem in a residential situation whereby unless the person stays locked in their home office, they cannot hear the ringing from other rooms in the house. I've had more than one complaint from customers.
This condition exists on a BCM1000 3.7, but I'm asking if someone with off prem IP sets can see if this condition exists on other levels of software. Is it a patch situation on 3.7 or do I just have to move to 4.0 if that even resolves it.

"Any" feedback on this odd quirk would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Usually when you don't get an answer, it's because no one else has had this problem or heard of it. I know I have not.

Here is your answer. It's a patch:

This patch is part of BCM 3.7 SU3. Not sure if it can be downloaded indiviually or not.

BCM_370.189-UTPS.12.17180
-------------------------

1. User is unable to make adjustments to ringing volume via Feature *80.
This patch ensures that the adjustments to ringing volume can be made.

Thanks BIV343!

I don't have access to the Nortel site so do you or someone have a copy of this file to download or have emailed to me?

Thanks again.

Looks like it can only be downloaded as part of SU3. That update is over 300MB. You may want to call your vendor and see if you can have them download it and put it on a CD for you.

As a final note. If apply the patch BCM 3.7 SU3 is it inclusive of the DST time change or is that separate patch still need to be applied?

I believe its separate. It only goes on bcm's that need it. ie it doesn't allow you to choose between new and old.
