I have a Cisco 806 router and I tried installing a new IOS and after the install I get the following message

System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(4r)XM3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
TAC Support: Copyright (c) 2002 by cisco Systems, Inc.
C800/SOHO series (Board ID: 17-100) platform with 32768 Kbytes of main memory

program load complete, entry point: 0x80013000, size: 0x4b5690

Error : compressed image checksum is incorrect 0x0DE6210E
þ Expected a checksum of 0x8CCA442C
*** System received a Software forced crash ***
signal= 0x17, code= 0x5, context= 0x0
signal= 0x17, code= 0x5, context= 0x0

Then the router freezes any ideas on what to try I did backup the original IOS on the TFTP server before starting.

Sounds like your IOS is either incorrect for the router or its corrupt.

Your only option is boot to ROMMON (power rtr on and hit BREAK) and see what options for loading an IOS you have.

I dont know this particular router but you will be able to load either via TFTP or use Xmodem via the serial port.

How much DRAM and flash are on the router. You need to make sure your hardware requirements support the IOS installed on the router.
