I am trying to install mysql on windows xp professional. The installation program says there should be a file named my-example.cnf in the installation directory that I need to copy to the root directory. When I installed it and looked for that file, it wasn't there. I went ahead and made a file named "my.cnf" in the root directory with what it said should be in there. I restarted my computer, but mysql wasn't running. What should I do?

There an apllication in the mysql/bin folder to start and monitor the mysql server if I remember rightly, give it a clicking :) ______________________________________________________________________
