When installing the Client fom M:\Macola70\Install\setup the following error "Component transfer error New MDAC 2.5.1, system cannot find the path specified" poped up and then closed down the install.

I am running W98 and Macola 7.6.100 SPA 32 bit.

This is going to sound weird but I can bet that the error is occuring at 9% complete????

Anyway.....exit out of the error and reboot the machine.

Browse to the M drive (or whatever drive is your macola drive)

Browse down to the macola7 or macsql directory.

Double click on the file called PWE.exe.

This will load macola. Sign-in and get to the main menu for pwe. IMPORTANT. Exit from the app using the file \ exit menu.

Then re-run the install from the install directory.

Let me know how it goes.

I have also seen this. Sometimes it works to simply rename the macola7.ini on the offending workstation & re-run the client install. I have also downloaded the most current mdac from microsoft at the time, installed, & eliminated the error. It usually happens when you are between 9-11% complete. I suspect it has to do with how macola registers its ms/vba components on the local workstation.

I would suggest staying away from updating MDAC unless you just have to. I have not seen my solve not work yet.
