Hi,
After installing DB2,when i start it from 'FirstSteps',
'Create the Sample DataBase' it is giving the error message
"Unable to create the sample databsae", "SQL1092N "ADMINIST"
does not have the authority to perform the requested command".When i change the user also i am getting the same error message. Please help me how to rectify this.

Thanks in advance,
Prakash.

What version of DB2 did you install ? I think for versions earlier than 7.1, only 8-char userids are supported. Hence running the sample database creation may cause errors when you are logged on as 'Administrator' since it contains more than 8-chars and will be truncated by DB2.

If you created user db2admin during the Db2 installation, you might as well use that.
