problem in NT4 when upgrading to SP4

When I install NT (SP1) everything's OK and after installing SP4 or SP5 or SP6, the computer stops after displaying the blue startup screen (Microsoft NT WS 4 (build 1381) ...". Even the "failsafe" mode doesn't work ...

my config : asus P3B-F, celeron 466, promise ata66 ctrl

anyone has ever heard about this problem ???

I would suspect the promise ATA card since it's the most unusual hardware piece. . .what driver are you using for it prior to the SP install? There is a description of this problem on the Promise web site with some possible solutions. I hope this helps!
