Hi,

I've been trying real hard to install a wireless client on my Win2000 Professional labtop so as to hook on to my already-setup-and-working-fine home wireless LAN. I've purchased a ENZER SkyRoam 22Mbps PC card (model EWM122), and as instructed by the user manual, I installed the wireless application to my labtop. I then pluck in the PC card into the PCMCIA slot, and it was detected by the labtop, after which I followed the steps to install the driver. I could see the network adaptor created successfully, with the icon on my system tray. I confirmed that by checking all the setup in control panel->Network conection. However, the status my wireless network adaptor is always "Network Cable Unplugged" although I have my PC slotted in, and the lights are on and blinking. This has resulted me not able to launch my wireless client application to perform the necessary configuration. I tried uninstalling, and re-installing both the driver and the application, in whatever sequence that i can think of ... but still cannot work. Thinking that it could be due to my existing built-in LAN card and adaptor, I removed and uninstalled the builk-in LAN adaptor but still not working. Suspecting that it could be due to my Windos200 Professional not up to dat, I then tried to do a Windows Update ... but still failed.

I thought installing a wireless client on a labtop suppose to be some quite straight forward ans simple .. and I'm not talking abt doing the wireless configuration (eg. SSID, WEP etc) cos I can't even reach that portion.

Appreciate it deeply if someone can advise and help me on this. By the way, prior to the purchase of my PC card, I actually bought a wireless USB adaptor and tried on the labtop, and it's giving the same problem.

Thank you very much.

Jason
