Problem in GUI SPY

Hi,
When I start winrunner and go to GUI Spy..clicks on it it gets disabled and does not recognize the objects ..it gets closed by ctrl f3 button..
Help me in this regard so that i can use the spy functionality.

Did you open any new or old script..? Then only the menus will be enabled..?
What type of product, you are trying to learn in GUI..? Because some objects are supported only, if you have specific add-in. Thanks and Regards,
