Problem importing Outlook 2002 into 2003

I am trying to import the pst file from Outlook 2002 into a new machine with 2003 in order to get past the 2gb limit. After a few minutes of importing, a message pops up saying "the operation failed" with some imported data in the new system. The new pst file is only about 800mb at this point.

Any ideas on what the problem is?
