I have exported a PST form someons accoutn, burnt to CD, added to another machine and tried ot import and when tried I have receivedf an error saying that the file is not a .pst yet it blatantly is.

for further checks I have removed the read only and archive options on the file and even just tried mapping a personal folder to no avail.

this has worked brfore but for some reaosn now it is not. One machine is OL2K on XP the other is OL2K on Win 2000 pro.

anyone got an idea?....

In windows explorer, go to tools options, view, make sure you can see all files and all filetype extensions. Copy the PST file to the local machine, rename it test.pst
try to import it again.
