I have successfully generated several charts using the chart generator in the past, but "all of a sudden"I get an error message that Access "has a Problem with the OLE Server or Active X-Element" It suggests to Start the OLE Server from outside Access...
This happens on all Access databases I have. Anybody who knows what's wrong. I used the repair from Office without success.

Thanks Rainer

Weird Answer:
In the past, I got this error; when I left the RowSourceType property (of the chart object) blank, the error disappeared. Might be worth a shot.....
Good Luck!

Hello Geno,
thanks for your answer, but your explanation is too complex.
Let me explain: I generate the chart using the Report generator in Access. So I start "New", I select chart and select the table. Nowe I hit the Ok button, and Access tells me: There is a problem while Access communicates with the OLE Server or Axtiv X. Access gives the following remedy: Close the OLE Server and start it from outside Access. Then try again.
Now I hit the OK button: access then tells me the following: It could be that the OLE Server is not registered. You need to install it again.
Unfortunately I do not know how to do either task..

I am running XP SP1

If the table is not already linked into Access you can get this error. Delete & relink the table, but make sure you check "Save Password" when creating the link. Surprised that this is an OLE error & not ODBC? Exactly where are you trying to get the data from?
