Hello,

I am a new user to Crystal Reports Ver. 7. We are in the process of converting our old reports over to Crystal and have come across the following problem. Here's my formula:

( {TICKET.TICKETOPENED} in Aged0To30Days
or {TICKET.TICKETOPENED} in Aged31To60Days
or {TICKET.TICKETOPENED} in Aged61To90Days )
and
{TICKET.ASSIGNMENTGROUP} = "UNIX"
and
{TICKET.BATCHJOB} = "Y"

This iwhat I get when I run a check on it:

Blob field or memo field cannot be used in a formula

I was wondering if anyone has seen this and what do I need to do ? Thanks !

Hi ! I work at converting and creating new Crystal Reports as well.
I have come across this many time.

A Blob Field can not be used in any calculations or formulas.

A Blob field in my case was more then 2000 characters. I use Version 8.

I would check and see if the BatchJob field is a memo or Blob Field by checking the Data structure. You might be able to do a conditional on the blob suppression.

Good Luck

That would be a Binary Large OBject field.

Or a field that eventually ends up covering your monitor, desk and used pizza boxes nearby with a strange, squishy goo.

Check the data type of each field used in the formula. Also, check from within Crystal (Browse) to see how Crystal sees them. If one is a BLOB, Memo or VarChar over 255, see the FAQ on memo fields. Ken Hamady
