Problem emailing with SmtpMail

Hi All,

I have created a small application which will email me every hour to give me an update on my server. If I am in the office I get my emails just fine, but when I change it to email me on an external address it fails.

I heard this might have something to do with not logging onto the SMTP server or security settings on the server?
How can I log on or change the security settings so that this will work?

Make sure you have the CDO library (Collaborative Data Objects) installed on your server machine. The SmtpMail classes are a wrapper around this COM object.

The CDO.dll file is on my server machine so I presume it has been installed.

How would I check this?

Check in the registry to see if CDO.Message is present
(\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CDO.Message)

No that is not there,

I have a CDONTS.NewMail but that is the closest I get.

Do I just run regsrv32 CDO.dll now on my server?
