Folks,
I'm trying to download some very large files (linux OS for my nephew). I have plenty of free space on one of my partitions. However, the files are being sent to my C Drive first and I am running out of space before the download is complete. Can I change the location where downloads get temporarily placed and if so, how do I do it?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Dave

I have a suggestion..you may want to get one of those new pocket drives..they come in 64, 128, 256, and 512 MB sizes
essentially you plug it into the USB port of your computer
and if you are running win98ME, 2000, or XP the computer will recognize it as a removable drive at which point you have a place to store files. If you are running win98 or Win98 SE you will have to install the drivers. Works pretty well.. just my 2 cents worth.

Dabster:

Windows downloads to the Temporary Internet Files folder until the download is complete, it then transfers the file to the location that you want to save it in. If your TIF is located on the C drive, you may want to change it to another partition with more space. In IE go to Tools>Internet Options. On the General Tab click on 'Settings" and click on the 'Move Folder' button to change the location.

That worked, thanks a bunch. Couldn't believe how easy it was, but then I don't use IE that much so didn't know it's array of options. Got the file I wanted - thanks again.
