Hi people

Im currently in a situation whereby our company are taking on new clients with switches which have had passwords regularly changed by the ex-suppliers, and the ex-suppliers havent kept track of what the passwords are. When we go to the clients site obviously we cant get on, and the ex-supplier is proving near to impossible to get any info out of for one reason and another.

Im aware that there is a method within PDT of extracting the Unix style password file and decyphering what the pwd is from that? Can anyone point me in the direction of where i can get any more info from? Please feel free if you will to email me at chris.riddell@orange.net if you can help any more

Thanks

Chris

If your company is an authorized Nortel Networks partner, they have training available to your support engineers that will teach them PDT. The practice of this site is not to post specific information about Nortel's proprietary debug program.

I agree with the "Old timers" comments. All vendors have a duty to keep passcodes secure.

Nortel will charge a 1000 to hack the password. they will need a PO and a release letter on the end users letterhead to do it.

The PDT password is......

haha...yeah right.

Well, apart from the last posting, all of the other ones were quite helpful. I would suggest that janaya is a Uni Student...and a miserable failure of one at that!

Thanks everyone else for your feedback and seasons greetings...

Cheers
