Problem detecting a 20GB ide disk on Sun Ultra 10 running Solaris 2.6

Dear Friends,

i have a Sun Ultra 10 server having Solaris 2.6 loaded on it.I want to add an extra 20 GB Baracuda ATA II ide hard disk, But only 7.87 GB is getting detected by the OS .
Kindly Suggest if some patches need to be applied to resolve the problem.

Did you run format?
How do you know 7.87 GB detected ?

You may have to modify the file format.dat so that solaris can recognize the disk Too bad I.T. is not cash business
