can somebody help...
i try to create an nt client on legato but i'm getting an error...the clients name is logic, i got a message...NAME LOGIC SHOULD BE VALID HOSTNAME.

is there any problem on name LOGIC?
Thanks a lot in advance...

aldrin

No, your name is fine, but in order for Networker to add the client, it has to be able have a path to it. If you're using DNS then you need to have the client on the DNS server list or if you're not, you can just add "LOGIC" with the proper IP address in your hosts file ie: x:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc. After that you can test connectivity using ping. Just ping the hostname (LOGIC). If you get a response back, then you should be set to try and add it again.

Just to add, if you're using Solaris or most other UNIX platforms, the file to modify is /etc/hosts or /etc/inet/hosts
