I wrote a SQL statement to create a view, and when I hit the check syntax button I get a positive response "SQl statment checked successfully". However when I actually execute the statement by clicking OK or Apply, Pervasive Control Center closes with no warning whatsoever and the view is never created.

Any idea why this is or how to solve this?

What's the CREATE VIEW statement? The "Check Syntax" button only checks to see if the SQL statetment itself is correct. Some things aren't allowable in a view (like joins) and while the underlying Select statement is correct, the view won't be created.

Shouldn't Pervasive at least tell me what is wrong instead of just closing abruptly?

I agree that it should tell you something but I've not seen it close like that. Have you told Pervasive you're having this problem? If you haven't, how can they fix it?
