Hi,

I've setup a PPTP server running on my FreeBSD box at work. I've been able to connect from home using VPN on my windows 2000 PC. But when a client of ours try's to connect to my work they get an error saying, Error 619: The specified port is not connected. They get this message when the vpn connection is verifying the password. I thought maybe there 47 and 1723 ports weren't open but they are and Mine at work are also.

Can anyone give me an idea of what I need to do to fix this.

Thanks.

during PPTP, when you get an error during username and password authentication, that is a very large indicator of port 1723 being blocked somewhere.

It is possible their ISP is blocking it, as a lot of ISPs these days consider VPN a use not covered under their TOS, as it is work related and not covered under a personal internet account.

Also, even if their Windows Firewall isn't blocking it, is it possible that their router is blocking it?

I check with there network administrator. He said there port 1723 on there router is open.

how about the ISP though? regardless of network tech, how about their ISP they connect THROUGH?
