Problem Connecting Crystal Reports to SQL server

I recently set up SQL Server express on an XP machine. I am not able to connect Crystal reports to the database. Below is the message that I receive when I try to connect. I am sure that the connection between the machines is good and that the request reaches the database OK. I think it is in permissions, etc on the database.
