Problem Configuring Sybase ASE 12.0 - "could not allocate...."

Hello:

I have problems installing SYBASE ASE12.0. The install goes fine until it requests me to configure the ASE. At this point it hangs on the WIN 2K machine.

If I then attempt to access the Server Config I get the following messages:
"could not allocate context structure in syb_system_default_charset()"
"could not allocate context structure in syb_system_default_language"
"CONNECTIVITY ERROR: Initialization of auditinit connectivity module failed"
"INTERNAL ERROR: Unable to initialize the SQL Execution Module"

Please help!!! I am desparate to get this fixed without having to format my drive.

Hi Dennis,
I encountered a similar error on a later version.
I had to delete LANG and LC_ALL environment variables for syconfig to work properly.

You might want to give it a try as well.
