Problem configuring SQL Mail

Hi,
In a fairly serious spot of bother here.
I am trying to configure a machine so that I can use SQL Mail.

The error I keep getting whenever I try to use xp_sendmail, is the following...

Server: Msg 18025, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80040111

On the PC I have the profile as 'MS Exchange Settings'. This is also the Profile Name in Support Services/SQL Mail and in the Management/SQL Server Agent. When I test this using the 'Test' button, I receive no error message.

This profile sends and receives mail fine from Outlook.

Does anyone have a clue as to what I am missing?
Any help very gratefully received.

Is the mail account user the same user that starts the SQL Server services? If not, there may lie your problem.

Make sure outlook is not running in any session using the same profile.

I got it to work but am not quite sure how! Something to do with logons and pwds.

I now have the same problem that robinsql had... any suggestions...?

works perfectly doing a test from sql mail BUT not from t-sql..

any help would be much appreciated!!
