Hi,

When install Oracle Enterprise, I need to change to the 2nd cd during the install. I was unable to unmount the CD since the Java installer has a lock on the drive. I tried using umount -f option but received a device busy message. I am sure that someone must have come across this problem before.

Thanks,
Karl

Check other threads in this forum, other people have recently discussed this problem in the last week or two.

Did you navigate to the directory on the CD to start the Oracle install? If so, the drive will not unmount as you are in a directory on the CD and so the CD will be in use, hence the 'device busy' message.

Create a 'staging area' (i.e. copy the entire CD contents to a temporay location) and run the Oracle install from there. This works fine and will enable you to install from the second CD as well as to unmount the second CD and mount a third (should a third exist).

Good luck!
