Problem building an executable

I'm trying to build an application that's been working fine for years. Just yesterday I started getting 'File not open.' at the end of a build of an executable. When I restore a backup, the backup always builds an executable. If I use the backup to restore files that have not changed, it rebuilds once then on the next rebuild with no changes, it gives me the 'File not open.' error again. This is happening with more than one application. It appears to have finished and even creates the executable file, but it is corrupt. Does anyone know what 'File not open.' means or what causes this error to occur? Thanks

It turned out that Kaspersky Antivirus software was making VFP act weird. Once I uninstalled it, VFP worked fine.

Hopefully you installed an alternative AV?
