I have a network of around 45 Machines.

1 x NT4 Server
1 x Win 95
The rest Win98SE

Also on the network is a Diva 2440 Router.

When 1st booted all machines work perfectly, however after a period of time (approx 4 hours) during which the machines are in constant use they lose the ability to access other machines using the machine name.

They also lose the ability to view websites.

I can ping IP addresses, both internal and external so I assume it is not a cable problem.

This effects all the machines except 2 Win98SE machines, and the NT4 Server machine - they work properly all the time.

All the machines have the same network cards/drivers installed.

Browse Master is set to Dsiabled on all machines, except NT4 Server I think.

Reset the status of Browse Master back to enabled on the workstations. Then test. Be certain the NT server is set to be the Master Browser. This involves a registry edit. For additional details see the subhead "Browser Issues" on this site:

Hmmm Is the router able to be a DNS proxy ?

If it were my network i`d have set the router as DNS only on the NT4 and instaled DNS service on the server for internal use.

Stongbow try to restart one machine and see if it works. If it does then stops again, try uninstalling NET BEUI and Reinstalling it. Savytex
