Hi everybody!!!

Problem: My backup unit is LTO3 (Tape 800GB) my JOB
(several servers) in the total of the about 700GB, they put in the recording ends up using 2 tapes of 800GB, sometimes records in a 500 GB another hour records 600GB and in the other the remaining.


Does anybody know it because?

LTO3 is 400gb native capacity with an estimated 800gb with compression.

Actual compressed capacity depends on the type of data being used. Compressed data will not compress. So backup 400gb of compressed data and that is all you will get on a tape.

Typical compressed data types: zip, lzh, rar, tar, gz, jpg, mp3, mp4.
