Problem adding number of Sort Groups in Report

Hello Everyone:

I've re-read most threads similar to my problem but I'm still having trouble counting the total number of sorted groups generated in a report .

Here's what I have.

A report based on a query that sorts month,by week date and sorts/groups by a document transmittal number.

SDSRD Header (Date/Week sort)
Monthly Report

Total Shop Drawings this Month =Count(*)
Total "SD" submittals this month =??????

I've tried adding the SD# header, and a text box and setting it's control source to =1
then trying to sum the text box count in the SD Footer and/or Report Footer but to no avail.
I'm not sure of the expression to use to count the number of groups. Placing the textbox in Detail
only gives a count of total records which I already have. I need the number of groups.

Total Drawings submitted this month = 11
Total SD# submitted this month = 5 (this I cannot get to work)

(there are a number of drawings submitted per SD# I would like to add total number of SD# sorted/groups per month as shown (5).

My apologies to all.I've re-read other threads and solved the problem.

I've added a SD# group header and a text box (say text48)setting it's control source to -1.It's also set invisible and grouped overall.
In the report footer I added another textbox with it's
control source set to =text48.
This counts the number of groups.
